Helena Petrovna Blavatsky (1831-1891) was a Russian Occultist and the founder of The Theosophical Society. In the latter part of the 19th century brought to the world a renewal of the Ancient Wisdom presented through a “synthesis of philosophy, religion and science.” In 1888 her masterpiece, The Secret Doctrine, was published which was guided by its source, the ancient Stanzas of Dzyan – the origin and development of the universe and humanity. She along with her coworkers established the Theosophical Society which became the bedrock of modern day Esotericism and Occultism. Throughout her life she wrote numerous books, published magazines, managed the Theosophical society despite strong opposition, slander, obstacles and character assassinations that came from the people who deliberately wanted to destroy her work. Her remarkable legacy can be witnessed in the pages of the Secret Doctrine by all serious readers and Theosophists today.
