The Key to Theosophy is an 1889 book by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, expounding the principles of theosophy in a readable question-and-answer manner. It covers Theosophy and the Theosophical Society, Nature of the Human Being, Life After Death, Reincarnation, Kama-Loka and Devachan, the Human Mind, Practical Theosophy and the Mahatmas. The book is an introduction to Theosophical mysticism and esoteric doctrine.

Mahatma Gandhi spoke of it in his autobiography:

“This book stimulated in me the desire to read books on Hinduism, and disabused me of the notion fostered by the missionaries that Hinduism was rife with superstition.”

This book is in the form of questions and answers – a dialogue between an Inquirer and a Theosophist – explaining fundamental principles of Theosophy. This is one of the fundamental books on Theosophy every student of Ageless wisdom must have in their bookshelf.

Helena Petrovna Blavatsky (1831-1891) was a Russian Occultist and the founder of The Theosophical Society. In the latter part of the 19th century brought to the world a renewal of the Ancient Wisdom presented through a “synthesis of philosophy, religion and science.” In 1888 her masterpiece, The Secret Doctrine, was published which was guided by its source, the ancient Stanzas of Dzyan – the origin and development of the universe and humanity. She along with her coworkers established the Theosophical Society which became the bedrock of modern day Esotericism and Occultism. Throughout her life she wrote numerous books, published magazines, managed the Theosophical society despite strong opposition, slander, obstacles and character assassinations that came from the people who deliberately wanted to destroy her work. Her remarkable legacy can be witnessed in the pages of the Secret Doctrine by all serious readers and Theosophists today.
