Preparation for Wesak - Guidelines
The Three most important full moons of the year are the Aries, Taurus and the Gemini full moons. Among them, the Wesak Full Moon is the most important. Legend says during this full moon, for few minutes the Buddha returns to earth to bless the earth with tremendous energy. To every esoteric student this is the most important moment of the year.
The Wesak day being of such great significance must be utilized by every esoteric student in the best way possible. For that appropriate preparation is needed. This is the one of the rare moments when a disciple can experience contact with the spiritual Hierarchy and a certain degree of spiritual illumination. Initial preparation must begin few months before Wesak. The last 20 days prior to Wesak is very crucial and every student must seriously prepare during this time.
This year 2021, the Wesak full moon is on 27th April (time may vary depending on your location). On the eve of Wesak, humanity comes in contact with the Spiritual hierarchy and can benefit from the tremendous pure energy flowing through the Great beings Lord Buddha and Christ, provided they are prepared enough to assimilate the energy. Every student must meditate during the exact timing of Wesak, when the moon is Full. Since the actual time varies depending on the location, students are requested to download the full moon chart and follow it closely. The full moon chart has been added at the end of this article for the benefit of all the students.
The Wesak being the most powerful Esoteric festival of the year is of great importance. As Torkom Saraydarian writes:
“The Wesak Festival is celebrated on the full moon of Taurus. At the time of the Wesak Festival, we are told that humanity contacts the Divine Life. There are three major centers on the planet: Humanity, Hierarchy, and Shamballa. Humanity as a whole is a center. Eventually that center will be integrated and synthesized. Like a magnificent lotus, it will open to absorb the energies of love and power and pass them to the lower kingdoms of Nature.
At the Wesak full moon, Great Ones and Their disciples all over the world participate in creating and forming a great field of energy on the earth through their meditation, contemplation, chanting, and one-pointed striving toward Infinity. Around 20 days prior to Wesak, every disciples should conscientiously prepare for the Wesak day. There are various ways to approach this but preparation should always be complete and all rounded. Many students prepare in an one sided way, for instance they only do pranayama and practices related to pranic energy. This results in imbalance because although the Pranic-Etheric body is considerably purified through diligent effort, the astral and mental bodies remain impure. Students who wish to join the Wesak ceremony must do purification and meditation for the refinement of all the three lower bodies, physical (includes etheric), astral and mental.
For the next three weeks before Wesak, follow this guideline:
- Think about the existence of your higher soul or Solar Angel. Establish spiritual contact. You can chant the Soul affirmation twice a day for the next one week and focus on the Mantram Avira Virma Yeti. Do it with feeling from the heart. It must be noted, mechanical chanting causes more damage than it benefits the practitioner. So chanting should always be done from the Heart.
- Practice the Blue Tetrahedron technique, Blue light purification technique by Torkom Saraydarin or the Purification by the Angels of four elements by Master Omraam. Depending on the Esoteric practices you follow, you may choose the appropriate technique that can help you refine and purify your subtle bodies.
- Physically stay pure. Take salt water bath every day, do your physical exercises, Tai chi, Chi Kung etc every morning. Refrain from sexual activities and practice sexual energy transmutation. Eat vegetarian food, especially lot of fruits and vegetables. Refrain from cigarettes, alcohol, pork, meat and all hallucinogenic drugs.
- Do not go partying during these days. Reduce your time after TV, Social media, mobile phones and Netflix to a strict minimum.
- Practice fasting once a week. Follow the recommendations of Master Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov. (*Fasting must be done after consulting your family physician)
- Meditate on Spiritual principles of Beauty, Truth, Purity and goodness etc. Read spiritual esoteric books like the Agni Yoga books or the Existence of God is Self Evident by Master Choa Kok Sui and the Wisdom of the Zodiac by Torkom Saraydarian before Wesak. You can also take a verse from these books and practice the Seed thought meditation to heal and align your mental body.
- Practice the Meditation on Twin Hearts or the Rose Cross meditation to heal and purify your astral body. You may also practice the Ivory door meditation if you are familiar with the works of Alice Bailey. Please meditate everyday during this time.
This is how you can prepare for the Wesak. Purity is must, without purity you may experience various psychological side effects after the Wesak Day. To safely experience oneness during Wesak and to establish contact with the Spiritual Hierarchy, these guidelines are a must. 3. Practice Psychological Purification by using the Erasing Technique and The Blue Triangle. You must do Blue triangle for all the vices three weeks prior to Wesak.
4. Diligently Practice! Do Meditation everyday!
5. Plan to do extra Service during this period in order to Prepare your Energy System for the Energy you will receive.
6. Consider in advance what you wish to do with this Energy … What do you wish to accomplish through receiving this Spiritual Empowerment?
7. And do not forget to plan at least 2 days after the Wesak Full Moon – to assimilate these Powerful Energies.
It is not recommended that you just plunge back into “business as usual”.
8. Please allow for time to Reflect, Time to Appreciate & to Assimilate the Intensity of the Wesak Energy & Blessings received. Aim to fully utilize this Great Gift in your life – for your own personal good & for the Benefit of Humanity.

1. Is there a particular time during which more the Divine Energy “Pours Down” – during the Wesak? When does it occur?
The approximately 8-9… minute period of the Divine DownPouring of Energies & Blessings – usually Begins – is normally about 9-14 minutes into the Ceremony.
(It has been noted that the precise time of when the Actual Downpouring begins – may vary slightly from year to year – perhaps due to our human inability to calculate with Divine Perfection the exact time to begin the Meditation Ceremony. Sensitive Participants may feel waves of Energy during this time & some report “seeing” Golden Light – at this time.
Note: Past reliance for the time calculation of the Wesak has come from various expert sources. But the preferred resource of our Beloved Guruji Master Choa Kok Sui – is Lucis Trust.)
It is exactly during the 8-9 minute period mentioned above – when the Divine Energies “Come Down”. This is considered to be “the most powerful period” because this is when the Wesak Blessings are poured onto us and onto our Beloved Mother Earth. According to our personal recollection this “DownPouring” normally begins approximately 13-18 minutes after the Beginning of the Session – not immediately at the beginning.
2. What is the correct geometric design to use for The Wesak Ceremony – in our Tradition? The Design is attached.
Please remember to be Mindful of the following recommendations:
1. Students should observe ALL Purification Practices for a minimum of 2-3 weeks prior to the Wesak.
2. Proper Physical Exercise should be undertaken daily – in order to strengthen the Physical Body, so that it may withstand & hold the greatest amount of Energy safely & store it properly.
3. Internal Psychological Purification should be done Diligently & Daily.
4. Participants should also Meditate Daily during this period.
5.Once the Conscious Intention of Every Participant, has been enhanced through the clearing away of personal negative thoughts, words & actions – then full attention may be turned – to becoming a World Server – to becoming fully focused on Uplifting & Transforming the Consciousness of all of Mankind.
6. The Objective is for each group is: to Mentally & Spiritually join with All other related groups – wherever they may be – in order to bring down – into the Physical World – as much Spiritual Energy as possible …
7. Why? To Spread Good Will & using the Divine Energy given through “Acting out our Goodness” …
8. On the day of the Wesak Ceremony, Participants should do a preliminary “run through” of the Ceremony. The Ceremony is best done in as large a group as possible.
9. At the end of the Wesak Ceremony … students may sit for as long a period of time as is comfortable for their system – so as to continue to absorb the Energy
and Release the Energy through Blessing every person & every being – without exception.
10. Then they should again do very thorough Physical Exercise.
11. Spend the remainder of the day in relative seclusion – in order to more fully internalize the Deep Silence, Inner Peace & Transformational Nature of the Energy of these Great Great Blessings.
12. Once these Divine Energies have been received – it is up to us to Hold, Maintain & Utilize them to the fullest possible extent – with an attitude of Deepest Gratitude.”

The Wesak Festival is best celebrated in groups. There is an esoteric law that 10 people meditating together is equal to 100 people meditating separately or more. This is because the Higher beings appear when we come together in their name:
“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” – Matthew 18:20 (KJV)
So if possible students are requested to form groups and meditate together on this sacred day. Possibly somewhere in Nature, away from the city is the ideal place for the Wesak meditation. Students should contact their coworkers and come together to discuss how they will celebrate Wesak. When we work in groups, deeper purification takes place and more energy can be assimilated.
